It's Glasgow in the 1980s. Times are tough. Industry is down and unemployment is on the rise as many Scots are left skint or flat-broke. The future is uncertain; with uncertainty comes tension. As the situation is reaching breaking point amongst the mortals, the Children of the Night have their own plans for Britain's future.

You are the clandestine creatures that haunt the dark corners of Glasgow. Where there is chaos and despair, you see opportunity. Perhaps humanity clings still to your undead shell, and you feel for the plight of the human masses? Or perhaps you find such notion a frivolity - vampire society has enough problems of its own after all.

Vampire: The Masquerade is a tabletop role-playing game (RPG) set in the World of Darkness universe. Created by Mark Rein-Hagen and first published by White Wolf Publishing in 1991, it has since become one of the most influential and popular RPGs.

The game takes place in a dark, gothic-punk version of the modern world where vampires exist among humans. This setting is known as the World of Darkness.

Players assume the roles of vampires, also known as Kindred. Each player creates a unique character, including their vampire clan, powers, and backstory.

The game is heavily narrative-driven, focusing on storytelling, character development, and moral dilemmas.

A Game Master (GM) or Storyteller guides the players through the story, presenting challenges, enemies, and plot twists.

There are various vampire clans, each with its own unique characteristics, powers (Disciplines), and weaknesses.

Examples of clans include the noble Ventrue, the deceptive Tremere, the monstrous Nosferatu, and the artistic Toreador.

Vampires navigate complex social hierarchies and political machinations. Players explore themes of humanity, morality, and the struggle with the beast within. Maintaining a balance between feeding on humans and avoiding exposure.

The game uses a dice pool system, primarily with ten-sided dice (d10s). Success or failure is determined by rolling a certain number of successes on these dice.
