Imagine you are a shipwreck survivor, cast ashore on the shores of Sydney Harbour. What resources can you see around you and what do you need to do to survive? Can you find shelter, get enough to eat and drink and ultimately, build a raft to float yourself to safety? Sydney’s original inhabitants, the Cadigal, understood how to survive and thrive in this rich, productive landscape and so on this day we will learn from the knowledge of the local people, exploring techniques and evidence written in Country by visiting the amazing heritage sites at Berry Island.
